Keep throwing the belt on the 440, new install, belt has a slight alignment error but very small. Is any alignment error a probabe cause?
The belt is a 15460 duralast, is that the right width?
Tightened the belt pretty tight and it threw it when I started it up and revved it, on the 2nd rev when I let off the belt was upside down. It gets loose on the top of the rotation where it gets slack from the torque of the crank pulling it.
For the last few weeks it has stayed on when doing a test drive, today was a little longer.
I have a tie rod belt tension-er so I can get the belt tight, I even thought it might be too tight and it thru the belt almost immediately.
Since the belt came off it does have a little twist to it, could that be a problem?
