Speaker Mounting in Dash 70 Challenger
« on: August 14, 2016 - 06:44:52 PM »
Does anyone have a picture of there dash mounted speaker ( ie,,,with out the grill cover )... :eek7:
I have one hole for the speaker ( in the middle portion of the dash )....wanted to see how you guys have it mounted,,,,
I bought a after market speaker at Carlise,,,,and I assume it goes "under" the hole in the opening for the speaker ( and does not sit "on top" of the hole for the speaker )
I have a after market dash pad,,,and it is not drilled for anything,,,so i don't want to start poking holes.... :drunk:
thx  !!!

I know my 73's is mounted on the top as well, the speaker should have metal "ears" to put the screws in.

Thanks Bruce,,,
I think i might need to "peal" back some of the dash/foam around the speaker hole,,,to see if i can get the speaker to sit a bit lower in the opening,,,otherwise I can't get the cover back on  :dunno:

I had to do exactly that, I never had a speaker ( radio delete) but there was a bit to much material in that area for the cover to sit properly , no big deal just be careful when you tighten the cover. hope this helps.
