Dodge Special Edition Product Announcement - new T/A

edit: more info found

The Challenger T/A gets its name from the Trans Am racing series of the 1970s, and Dodge says that the new one is ready for the track, as well. The base Challenger T/A is, erm, based off the Challenger R/T with its 375-horsepower, 5.7-liter V-8. It adds the same "air catcher" headlight intake as the Hellcat, a new intake system, electronically controlled exhaust, upgraded suspension components, better brake linings and a three-mode stability control system.

You can add some creature comforts with the T/A Plus, which adds Nappa leather seats, an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a better sound system. The Challenger T/A 392 adds a 485-horsepower, 6.4-liter V-8, Brembo brakes and wider wheels. The Challenger T/A will set you back $37,390, while the T/A Plus costs $40,140. The T/A 392 will be priced at $43,995.

I like the TA but the Daytona leaves a little bit to be desired as I have images of the old one in my head.

The Daytona appearance package was butt ugly on the previous generation Charger.(and Ram truck)  This looks about the same.  :puke:

I wonder if these two models will be taking the place of the Scat Pack?  It kind of sounds like they might be.  I want a Scat Pack Charger.  A Daytona...not so much.

I'm sure that all of us wish that we had bought a new Cuda or Challenger in 1970 and stored it away because of what they would be worth now. Anyone think that applies to these new ones ? Somehow I can't imagine someone asking where to buy a new wiring harness for these 40+ years from now.  :D

I'm confused as to why the "T/A" Challenger doesn't have the T/A hood that Mopar offers :clueless:

Otherwise I'm proud to be a Mopar lover these days with what these guys are continuously putting out there... :worshippy

Could it possibly be that the rights to the design is in the hands of an aftermarket company. I've seen them out there on a late model Challenger.

I don't think that is the case because FCA has a snorkel hood in stock for the Challenger, it was 1st installed on the 2010 Challenger Mopar 10 Edition.

I completely agree, they should have put the snorkel hood on and kept the AAR style hood to the SRT. otherwise I love what they are doing to it

Ok, I didn't know that. Not up to speed on the new ones and still learning about the old ones.

Frankly I get lost with all the different "sub-models" - there's just so many of them! What's this one ... an RT? No, that's the RT Classic. Oh, so this one is the RT? No, that's the RT Plus. So this one is definitely the RT! No, that's the RT Scat Pack. Oh forget it! :bricks1:
Cheers!

I just wonders what the SRT model now represents. BTW, I like the new color of the new 392 TA. Time to go over to the Dodge site to check it out.
