Thinking about Tim's speech on the other brands changing direction to more track focus cars while the Dodge remains faithful as muscle cars in an event unveiling the Challenger TA. I thought the TA and AAR were designed to compete in the road racing circuits? Is he giving us a message not to take the TA to the track and be disappointed?
I think Dodge should take some weight off the Challenger instead of adding weight with packages. They could start with a carbon fiber or even fiberglass TA hood. The forged HC wheels and bigger brakes were a good start.
His remarks that nobody tracks the Z/28 and GT350 were just plain wrong. Chevy and Ford sell those cars so people can do that, but they sell other models for people who aren't interested. It was just a spin job. The Challenger is way too big and heavy to compete with them.
There's nothing wrong with not offering a track focused car (though calling it a TA doesn't help your cause), but he shouldn't have used the other cars as an excuse when he's plainly wrong.
