been feeling a little stagnant with the current design.  usage is down a bit and im bored of our current look and feel.  so im talking to some people right now and think im going to have a pro refresh done.  im reaching out to you guys to see if you have any suggestions.  my scope for now is a totally new homepage design, header graphic, and a new theme for within the forum.  i personally like the graphic of http://www.mclarenlife.com/ and http://www.acuransxforum.com/  if you guys know of any other forum designs that really stand out to you that can be used as inspiration please let me know!

What I like about this site is the "show unread posts since last visit" an the "show new replies to your posts" options.  Those are the only buttons I ever use.  I never scroll through the individual sections.  If that goes away, it would be disappointing. :2cents:

dont worry guys, those two features wont be going away!  in fact, no features will be going anywhere.  this is strictly a visual exercise.

Those two are cool. I like Burdar's points ... many other site you have to navigate to those function ....

www.corvetteforum.com .. just another idea ....

I'm kinda impervious .. it's content to me - but I'm longer in the tooth ... so it's not the glitter I care about ..

First I would say that this is a great web board. I may not post as much as some but I've frequented the board daily for many years.

I would like to see a board that has a member photo gallery section  :2thumbs:

I understand; sometimes you just gotta move the furniture around, but I actually kinda like the layout we have.  Maybe some minor mods (the Acura forum is preferred over the McLaren forum that you cited),  but keeping it simple, visually works for me.  What I really don't care for, are all white borders.  I can never tell when an advertisement starts and stops compared to the content, that just drives me bonky.    :pullinghair:  I'm an engineer, I need some grid lines.

I liked the http://www.acuransxforum.com/ a little better than the McLaren forum, and was able to collapse in seconds the areas I had no need to see.

No issues with the response time either

I like current version also.  If there are changes, keep heavy graphics, alternating flashing ads down so it does not slow the site.  Like Moparts with its flashing ads etc, it just slows things down before you can do anything.  The speed of my provider is pretty damn good, but I think those flashing ads slow down within the browser.

I've gotta say that this site's design is clean and easy to navigate as it is.   It works plain and simple.

I'd like to see a 'next' button when scrolling through the pages instead of only the page number.  Whatever you do I'm sure it will be good.

I kind of like the http://www.mclarenlife.com/ forum layout.  The Acura forum is too glitzy.  I like the "most popular" and "recent discussions" panels on the Mclaren page.  That seems pretty practical.

Although, I also enjoy the current CC.com forum as it is.  Seems like the company where I work is always changing things for the sake of change.  I think there needs to be a good reason for change.

I too for the most part only use the  "show unread posts since last visit" and "show new replies to your posts" options. I'm a believer in KISS, this site is easy to use. I like the add idea for videos, It would be great to share tech videos, there's also a of other videos worth sharing. If your adding more visual/flash that shouldn't be a big deal as far as site change? it's just like changing a magazine cover page? I couldn't see how that would hurt?
