Flash vs. Performance - 6 barrel is mostly for showing off, more unique, and more difficult to keep in tune - 4 barrel is easier to set up, cheaper, and will out perform it on the street but there are a million of them out there.

:iagree: I have a 340 with 6 pack and I am gong to replace with a 4 barrel. But I'll  probably get the large oval air cleaner for a 4 barrel, still kinda of gives it a similar look.  :2cents:

If you have a 6 pack already then go for it. Properly tuned a 6 pack will perform as well or better than any 4 barrel "on the street". Full blown race then a four barrel but on the street the 6 pack works fine. I run a 512 stroker with a 6 pack at 622 plus hp. Runs crisp, idles great at 1100 (kinda big cam) and pulls like a freight train. Slams you back when the end carbs open and NOTHING sounds better than those end carbs screaming!

You are so right, there is nothing like the sound a six pack makes!  Music from Heaven!

I have both setups:

Eddy LD340/Holley 750 with light weight air cleaner... 30 pounds total (less front-end weight = better handling around the corners... AX/HSAX/HPDE).

Factory six-pack, factory T/A air cleaner... 60 pounds total (but awesome performance... and using adjustable rear baseplate, etc)... great for eye-candy at the shows and pits/races, and MOPAR heritage!

I'd go for the six-pack as its more appealing and awesome.... just be certain to get the adjustable rear baseplate and spend some time (~1-hour) to fine-tune it.... worth it!
Autocross/road racers go in deeper... and come out harder!

See  MOPAR ACTION MAGAZINE, AUGUST 2006 ISSUE for featured article and details on my autocross T/A.

LD340 intake, QF650 4 barrel, Oval 4 barrel Air Cleaner on my 418 C.I. stroked 340
I like the look of the Big Oval Air Cleaner and the larger open filter element makes for easier breathing over the stock round AC with the 2 oval openings.

RPM Air gap & a Proform or QFT 4 bbl  :2thumbs:
6 pack will not run with it , less power for sure
