AMD Quarter skins, or not?
« on: August 25, 2016 - 10:06:10 AM »
I bought up a pair of quarter skins that were supposed to be AMD, but now when I got them, I'm not sure, I never seen AMD quarters or skins before, aren't they supposed to have the drain holes pressed in the lower part in front of the wheel well. And the part that attach to the rear valance don't seem to fit well either. Can anyone tell from the pictures if theese are AMD or not?

My AMD full 1/4's did, indeed, have the drain ripples in the bottom edge and I don't like the sizing of the front flange that goes over the lock pillar, either. The AMD panel was also pretty sturdy due to good metal thickness. I'd call AMD and then email them a pic of those panels and see what THEY say. But then, that's just my  :2cents:

Probably not AMD . Doesn't have the holes drilled for the valance also.

My amd skins had the  drain ripple in the bottom and. The valance holes  punched . And had. Two amd stickers inside  affixed. To the panel

Private seller, but he is cool, he bought them himself as AMD years ago, he is gonna refund me some of the money.

As to if they'll fit AMD outer wheelhouses- who knows? I bought all AMD 1/4's and outer/inner wheelhouses and they fit together like $hite. When I called AMD, they put me over to their installation shop and the guy said to basically throw them all together and try to jockey them into place as good as possible- and that's no BS, it's exactly what he said. SO, don't get your knickers in a twist until you've got them and tried them. Who knows, it might go together swimmingly! Good luck

Did they fit OK? How did you deal with the missing drains? I ordered a pair of AMD outer wheelhouses now.

I used a full goodmark quarter and the fit was excellent in my opinion needed less work Than the amd.  However the amd are heavier gauge and the body line is abut more sharp.  I think you can hammer and dolly out the drain,  my full quarter already had it.
