S.E. Michigan shops
« on: August 30, 2016 - 04:37:03 PM »
Looking for a company that will fine tune my new motor I put in my 71 Challenger. Any recommendations? I'm in Howell so the closer the better. Thanks!

Go down on M 59 just before Argentine on the south side is a place called CARR auto . . . He works on a lot of older cars and is reasonable.  Second choice would be Thurmans . . . In downtown on Michigan ave just north of the main 4.  He works on a lot of Mopars

Hope this helps!

Either place just tell them Dave with the cuda's sent ya . . .

Well after 3 weeks with my car up at Thurmans, I must say I am not impressed. 3 weeks and $300 and  brand new carb that he did not even adjust. The car is still stumbling at take off. Now time for plan B. :dunno:

At least try the first one I talked about . . . Guy is pretty good with old cars and when you see his shop that is pretty much all that is there.  Sorry Thurmans didn't help.   :eek4:

Well I finally have the 505 running like it should. One of my friends knows a dyno guy at Livernois Motor and he was kind enough to drive to my house and set it up. He locked out the distributor and changed the jets. Runs awesome! Best part he did it for free. I think I paid 300$ to the wrong person. I did buy him dinner and filled his gas tank for his kindness!
