Shocks and torsion bars are totally different and provide different ride qualities independent of each other.  When paired up to compliment each other, the results are a great ride.  Using stiff shocks on soft bars will leave you with an under suspended ride with harsh wheel movements that you will feel with every bump. I had those KYBs a long time ago, and they are total crap for ride quality.  Everything is harsh in the initial movement.  If you can come up with the $$$, good quality shocks are the best way to get the most out of your torsion bars.  Just changing those shocks to a high quality shock will make a huge difference in the way your car will feel.

I pulled the trigger today on the PST 1.03" bars.
I put those on my car but I also removed the stock bump stops and put on energy suspension 3/8" tall ones.

I'll look around for new shocks this winter. What are good manufacturers? I'll switch out the bump stops to.

I've been looking at Bilstein's, QA1, and Viking. No personal experience but from reading various forums, these seem to be the ones a lot of people like.

thanks. last Q, before I beat this topic to death... Can I get away with just replacing the front shocks? I'd rather not dump another $5-600 into the car this late in the year. I imagine that would work just fine.

For non adjustables you cannot beat Bilsteins !!!

It was night and day on my last Cuda.

Not ideal but you can do it IMO. Still safe.

i believe that PST offers free shipping on most items above $100. My TBs shipped for free. I'm going to call Gerald this fall to get all this stuff mounted on the Cuda.

KYB's are awful. I ran them on my Challenger for a few years before I switched to the non-adjustable Bilstein RCD's. It was like a completely different car. I ran Bilstein RCD's on my Duster as well but had the opportunity to get some slightly used non-adjustable Hotchkis Fox shocks and switched it over. That car also has 1.12" bars, and there was a noticeable improvement with the Hotchkis Fox's even compared to the Bilsteins. I think that for a bar under 1.06" the Bilsteins are fine, they do a good job on the slightly lower rate 1.12's on my Challenger, but the Hotchkis shocks really shine with the larger bars.

Even with the 1.03's I would suggest going to Bilsteins. They're so much better for ride quality its not even funny.

It truly is amazing how shocks can change a car. They are the heart of the suspension system and should be chosen as carefully as one would choose a camshaft for their engine combination.
