I thought I would share a cool car that I was able to aquire.....
« on: September 01, 2016 - 01:14:51 AM »
Hi Everyone,
I thought I would share a cool 71 Cuda convertible that I have been able to acquire. I got it to my house last week. Its pretty unique in the way its optioned.

Hi Impact paint
V6X stripe
Rallye dash
RWL tires
AM/FM Cassette

But............. It has a manual top and the base transmission. A three speed manual on the floor. (I believe 1ownr Judy and Charlie have a three speed Cuda vert)

The car also came with all the original dealer paperwork including window sticker.

I washed all the dust off of the car when I got it and was excited to see  how nice the finish is. I was told it was non restored but with one repaint in the 80's. I still need to clean all the dust out of the interior but I did vacuum.

It looks great but I need to get it running. Its been sitting for 15 years. I siphoned 10 gallons of old gas out of the tank and just changed all the fluids. Also changed the plugs. I will prime the oil pump and go for a start after checking all the fuel hoses and wiring.

Tom

SWEET!  That looks great!  Nice options.   :clapping:
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Hi Judy,
It was really nice meeting you and Hubby. That's why I love the Carlisle weekend. It's meeting up with old friends and meeting new ones!

Nice car. Does it get the V6X put back on ?

I always wanted a Billboard car. So yes the stripe is going on. Although now I know why some people prefer not to have the stripe. The stripe will cover a lot of nicely finished sheet metal.

On the biiboard application I know I need to remove the rear marker lights. Do I need to remove the door handles???

I was lucky enough to find a good vinyl wrap guy last year that does awesome work with stripes. He even comes to the house!  :2thumbs:
