Carlisle Repaved the Fairground lanes!
« on: September 08, 2016 - 02:42:08 PM »
I've been trying to find an actual article on it and I can't, but the Carlisle Events Facebook page announced that it is in the process of repaving many of the lanes and roads throughout the fairgrounds.

The one particular lane they've shown happens to run along where our tent has always sat!

I think we'll really enjoy this next year!  The uneven lanes were always something of a hazard to walk while looking at cars and not at where you're going...  :)

By the way 4Cruizn, this kinda answers the question we had this year - do the tents stay up year-round?  It doesn't look like it - at least not all of them...

They need to level out that stupid hill.  That's a law suit waiting to happen.

Well to be fair, Carlisle Events has no control of the tolls...  :)  There have been a lot of new hotels going in, but they all remain fairly pricey because they know most of their business comes from the fairgrounds.

The Holiday Inn we stayed in this past season was really nice - I liked it.

Just so we are clear, this is Carlisle and not Columbus.   Yeah apparently they do move the tents around.  That will be pretty cool to have fresh walking paths . . .

I don't know what everyone is complaining about the hotel prices...
What I paid for 3-nights would barely cover one in many places I've stayed over the last few years, for instance downtown Nashville.

I actually didn't have a problem the way it was. Yes, I'm low maintenance.   :grinyes:

I wouldn't say I had a PROBLEM with it, but it was easy to find yourself stumbling because you were walking one direction while looking another (unless you were 4Cruizn, in which case you were lookin' LOTS of directions...   :naughty: )

HAHAH I'm sure they'd love that!!!   :roflsmiley:

They need to level out that stupid hill.  That's a law suit waiting to happen.

that hill is all rock, very costly to remove.
