I just did some looking up research.

the pantera rear track and the 65 barracuda rear track are within an inch of each other in width. Perhaps just graft the whole thing into the cuda?

Why not go right to the source? Bob Riggle is alive and well living in Arizona. Look him up I'm sure he'd be willing to chat. I met him in my local area about 10 years ago and we had a very nice talk for almost 2 hours. What a neat experience that was. My last name is Reagle ,My dad's name was Bob ,I grew up in a 65 Barracuda and ALWAYS knew what the original Hemi Under Glass was. When I was a little kid I remember hearing them announce "Bob Riggle and the Hemi Under Glass coming to ***** Drag Strip". Sounded to me like they were talking about my Dad!!!  I told my story to Bob and then asked if he was looking for a protégé since he would probably have to retire someday. He grinned and asked "Would you consider changing the spelling of your last name?" It was a day I'll remember as long as I live.

Interesting, I had no idea he was still around. Great story   :2thumbs:

Yeah, but you priced Pantera parts lately.  By contrast, Olds made the Toronado from 65-78 backing up 455 torque monsters. If that could be adapted, it may be a cheaper and more abundant source of transaxles. Otherwise, why not just copy the original.

I dont want an automatic transmission. I'm not thinking of the traditional "hemi under glass" that was already done. I want to make a mid engine pro-touring/track car that actually turns. As we saw in the jay leno video that car didn't turn.

You dont necessarily need to use Pantera parts per se. The ZF transaxle will be the expensive part, the rest can be fabricated or bought aftermarket. I'm not actually suggesting using Pantera parts just the geometry and lay out of the rear suspension. Obviously there will need to be significant frame and structure work done as well.

Grab a new generation IRS and drop your new gen hemi in with a short shaft 4 speed mounted with a very short knuckle and you are good to go. Pumpkin is solid mount as is motor and trans.

Removing the warning labels one at a time.
Nature will take care of the rest.

I have an original article on the 65 somewhere. If my memory is correct the Hemi was connected to an upside down A833 then a driveshaft went to a V-drive out of a boat and then another driveshaft to a "normal" rear axle. I don't know if the axle was suspended by coils, leafs or just mounted solid to the frame. I imagine it was solid mounted or it would be pretty much impossible to control otherwise.
