440 Spark Plug Wire Routing

How do you guys route your spark plug wires on a 440 with headers? I have a couple options, some involve cutting. But before I do anything, who has some pictures??

FWIW I have MSD 8.5 wires with straight boots. They can be bent to about a 45*. Currently it's way to tight around the steering shaft and a few other areas.

I have the MSD 8.5 wires as well and use a wire loom kit.

I custom cut the length of mine
have them come up from under the header when possible
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

Do you have some pictures of how they run through the headers? So you didn't cut anything just bent them? My 5 and 7 are really close to the steering shaft. And 4/6 are really tight against the shock tower. Did you use a loom kit with brackets that hold the wires up off the headers/valve covers etc?

For the steering shaft I bent mine at a nearly 60 degrees.

You can seem one of the looms to the left.

Yup I have a set of those being delivered today. I may get some 90* boots and cut and fit some of the wires if I can't get them routed clean enough.

Ended up using an msd wire loom, bending some look brackets I had and...don't cringe a bunch of black zip ties for a really clean look. Really surprised how well the zip ties worked and blended in with the black wires. Just need to raise the wires running on the manifold and call it a day.

I have the four wires that are going to the right of the carb in your photo,
going to the left of the carb, though the wire for #1 plug goes under the water pump.

Get rid of that plastic fuel filter.  :2cents:   Fire hazard IMO  :wave:

As Brad says, that wouldn't pass tech inspection.

Run the fuel filter at the rear with a can like this. I know you cannot see when it's clogged but its the best way as I have had others that just started leaking on me.

 You should take a look at one of these to get your heater hoses out of the way

I like the clean / simple black steel valve covers , I would have swapped left to right & had a short run to the PCV & the breather at the front .
