and I'm sure alot of have been replaced.

When the floor pans go so do the trunk pans.....

While we are on the subject, even with the access hole it seems tricky to me to tighten it up.  If the nut is supposed to go towards the back, how do you hold the head of the bolt?  I've gotten in the habit of using a cross lug nut wrench through the access hole and climbing under the car to use a ratchet on the other side.  Definitely not ideal as the lug nut wrench tends to slip off and then you gotta re set up.  I must be missing something obvious.

I do have after market hardware which I think is a little longer, if that makes any difference.

Disassembly is the problem.  When the fasteners are new/clean, the weight of the vehicle on the shocks will hold the bolt from spinning.  At least it did when I put my Challenger together.

The existing KYB shocks are a few years old, but probably haven't seem more than 1-2k miles. Plus, the car has never been in rainy weather. Hopefully, it will be an easy R&R.

Again what access hole.

Depends on the car.

Definitely an aftermarket trunk pan. My Goodmark pans did not have the holes, I made them prior to installation.

What brand shocks are you replacing them with?
I really like my ridetech FOX shocks. There's alot of good one's out there depending what you want to pay and what set up you're going for.

KYB's are good for one use...into the garbage can!

If you are going to use KYB shocks you might as well cut down a tree, cut limbs to size and install the limb where the KYB shock goes.

Ya, they suck. When I bought the car, it had been in a garage for over 10 years. It still had the original factory shocks. I was green when I was first getting the car drivable and went for what a shop recommended. They were better than 40 year old stock shocks, but quickly it became aparent they weren't going to handle my power upgrades. Here is what I'm installing:

blistien rcd shock 4x
FF tubular UCAs
PST 1.03 TBs
FF stage 3 box
Big sway bar up front
