O.K. this IS a small world we live in. I know Wayne Bender and a little about the 74 Cuda he has. Somewhere along the way someone started trying to clone a 70 out of the 74. They also cut a hole in the roof for an aftermarket sunroof. He is still trying to correct a few of the cars issues and hope to have it back on the road soon.

WOW!!! 10 year old post and the car is still owned by Wayne. Just talked to him this morning.

I graduated from KO in 77 ..

Had the '64 Rambler Classic and 71 Matador wagon to drive back then.

Actually i still actively look for either of those rides to buy.

My 73 Barracuda vapor locked a month or so ago and while trying to get it started , a guy stopped and helped , found out he had recently purchased a nice '64 Rambler Classic.

I owned a '74 back in '81-'84, was a 318 auto car, my dad and grandfather paid $1500 for it, I remember I was so excited i could not sleep for days looking outside my window at it all night..haha after a few year's I restored it removed the white stripes and spent the whole summer doing body work thanks to a master tech neighbor that helped me paint it with Centauri enamel paint I recall.
I got a '70 340 engine for $90 all rebuilt, somebody welded the cam cup for the fuel pump and it rubbed the timing cover so the guy must have freaked out removed it and that's where i came in and bought it, tore it down in my basement and found the problem, got a free 727 small block torqueflite built by Fairbanks transmission It had yellow paint with black zebra stripe's, had a blown one way clutch in the bottom of case, my first auto trans rebuild.
Got a 4.10 sure grip for $50 and that car flew, sold it for $2100 in 'early '84 to a local kid in Windsor Ct, i have no documentation on the vin or build date today........have missed that car for many year's

This might help.. Your car is a TX9/TX9/A6XW D21 car.. I have an old SIAC membership form with prior owner info. And as you can see I have info on the car right after yours and several others.

BS23L4B336442
BH23G4B348808
BS23L4B354816

JH23G4B364745
JH23L4B373131
JH23G4B375355
JH23G4B397584

These are from old SIAC membership forms and not an exact list. Some I have fender tag info for some don't. I highly doubt Galen has any info other than people who had theirs decoded on the later cars as there was no money to be made from them. I didnt read all the posts so I dont know if Barry beat me to the punch and messaged you.  ;)

Dont forget to register your AAR at the AAR Registry only at www.transamcuda.com 1981 AAR's on file. Also info on 70 thru 74 E-Bodies. Ask me about yours!!

I read a article in Hot Rod that claimed the last Barracuda rolled down the Hamtramk line on April 1, 1974. To an Aprils Fools celebration at the lines end.
Mine was ordered and built as one of the first 1974 "Sold" on Nov. 13 1973. It took a month from Oct to get it, and they were willing to build another, since it was dinged up. We needed it for Holiday deliveries so I got stuck with it. I always figured since I ordered no trim and an FM MXP stereo @ $280., it pissed off the trim guys while it waited in the radio turn out.  I wanted the no trim and no holes to rust out later. I paid $3700 cash out the door. The auto trans.998, power steering, power disc brakes were a waste of money, since the base price was $2900.00 + tax and shipping. I should have got the free 3 speed on the floor and bought the Cuda wheels instead.
Still shinny, no rust, radio still works great and now a 440 automatic. I could use some fresh paint to finally get what I wanted, back then.
A low build #BH,,G,, 202830  I still store the #" matching 318 and complete axle housing, 999 Trans. is a 1977.

That's really cool you know all the history on your car.
So few here do.

I have documents on mine since it was bought new.

I was a member of SIAC, for 2 years before they decided to try to be a magazine.  The 'Cuda I had at that time, a 71, was stolen, but just got another one, a 74.
