Cuda convertible boot clips and affixing

Hello everyone!  New Cuda owner here. I'm trying to get the convertible top boot to clip in and stay affixed.  It doesn't appear to have any real adhesion.  Just rests against the molding, not clipping in to anything.

Am I missing anything?

The clips should snap in place. A little force is needed.

Thanks,  The boot is brand new,  I'll put some muscle into it and see if they clip.

Yea it takes quite a bit of effort....you have to pull hard and kinda hook the outside on first

Thanks again fellas.  Next project, trying to modify my interior so I can fit in it.  I have the 6 way seat and yesterday, relocated the seat rearward with extensions - for more leg room.  Also adding a 14 5/8 Tuff style wheel to replace the 16" rimblow.

As soon as you go to clip the boot on that vert your restoring it'll all come back to you....

Yep, that's how I do it. 

And if it's new, then a little pressure is needed.

The steering wheel will help,  I replaced my 16" wheel with a 14.5" and it helped a lot.  Seat all the way back and down.  I still have to get in the car side saddle but I can get out in under 10 seconds now! Haha

Also I start the clip on the inside then roll it to the outside.  Helps if you do it in the hot sun too. Much easier when the boot is stretchy

Just put a new one on my car 2 weeks a ago the vinyl was so tight that some clip would stay on. Make sure to put the boot in the sun before it help alot or use one of those steam machine for clothes. Even with heat it take alot of force. Afther 2 weeks the clip are a little easier to put on.

Thanks everyone. I was able to clip it in. The inside ridge first then the outside.  The trim is so nice that I was apprehensive about pushing down on it. Fear of dimpling or denting.

My seats are now 2" more rear with the extenders that I fabricated. The tuff style wheel bolted on but the grant adapter kit did not make sense with the crush can still on the car. My rim blow is totally restored and very nice so I'm going to keep it on and eventulally go with the Ididit tilt column.
