Mechman alternators if you want the best out there.

I emailed them. They responded quickly and gave recommendation based on the application. More $ than most others but not all that much actually. 😊👍

True.  I did some digging locally - there was a guy that sold his own re-built custom alternators that most racers used ... but ... alas - no more ... lol

Just make sure you run a heavy wire right to the battery from the alternator. :2thumbs:

I couldn't find anything on their site I reference to high rev capabilities. You guys know if they can take hard runs up to 8k rpm?  I can call em. But if you know. Thx!

Not sure Mark?

I know to reduce pulley ratio from 3:1 to 2.5 or less. Then it's back to old game - on the street will alternator push enough at itself spinning 4- 5.5k rpm   Thx!

I'm having difficulty returning  new powermaster alternator purchased through Year One. Seem to be getting the run around. I purchased a 90amp. unit, had the pulley removed and new serpentine one installed at a local starter/ alternator rebuilding shop for $20. Installation of 3 pole same as original that was working fine and same harness.
On startup, blue field wire to resister started smoking. Quickly I disconnected battery. Took new alternator back to rebuild shop to have tested. He found short that fried his wires. Year One about to lose a steady customer having bought thousands of parts for my 2 builds with another Cuda project coming up. I ordered a new alternator from Quality even though only 75 amp, it should handle added electric fans.

"powermaster" is your problem they are often good for a week or so sometimes less
What alternator would you recommend. I was about to buy a 95 amp powermaster until I saw this. No rebuilders around my area or I would go that route.
Its just a little 340 with a miss
