Is hybrid Fiberglass still in business? I have emailed them several times without response. How much are their bases (AAR/TA 6 pack), anyone know?
Give him a call. I called in the evening with the intention of leaving a message since it was well after business hours and he answered his phone on like the second ring. Wasn't expecting that!

For a 4 barrel application, I want to say he quoted me something around $200, just like Brad said. I remember weighing the option of that setup and thinking in my head it was pretty close to $500 all in so $200 would be about right.

Not to derail the thread, but you have an efi 6 pack setup - you can afford the air cleaner setup too. An efi 6 pack deserves a bada$$ air cleaner! Just my 2 cents though!

Thanks. Actually I have 2 EFI 6 pack systems; one SB and one BB. I have a factory air cleaner system on the BB system, however the SB is on my Cuda and I am running a AAR hood, I would really like an AAR/TA base but steel ones are very expensive; more than I am willing to pay. I have 2 fiberglass bases I can use on it; one is a AA12 (lift off hood B body) style and the other is a cold air B body style. It isn't that I don't have a base, its that I am not paying $1500+ for an AAR/TA one.

I saw in your build thread that you mentioned having two, but I figured the cost of one setup would be enough. I had no idea the steel base setups cost so much! Yikes! I'd go fiberglass even if I didn't need a drop base bottom pan if I had to pay that much. Lol!

There is a company out there that makes machined aluminum bases too. I'll shoot you a pm if I can remember who so we don't clutter up this thread anymore. They were more expensive than the fiberglass, but I don't remember exact figures.

I want to order up my setup, but I have no idea what my hood clearance is going to look like with a 440 and Edelbrock Performer RPM intake. I was following this thread because I want an AAR hood (and it would help with my clearance issues), but have to wait til I'm at the point where I can test my ralleye hood for clearance. The waiting game sucks!

I know the feeling all too well. It seems like when I have money, I don't have any driving need for something, when I don't have money (more the norm); there are all sorts of things I want.

I'm interested to purchase a fiberglass T/A six-pack base ... for lighter weight up-front.   If you are serious, maybe we can order 2 pieces?... (he may have to make them).

See  MOPAR ACTION MAGAZINE, AUGUST 2006 ISSUE for featured article and details on my autocross T/A.

I'm not so sure they would be lighter..... :dunno:
My base( 4BBL) , mounting hardware, and rubber gasket to hood weights 6.4 pounds.

I ask as this may be another viable approach for me as I have a very fine margin between my air cleaner and the hood!

Keep in mind the aircleaner filter goes up into the hood on a T/A and I assume AAR hood so you can get away with a taller filter
