Thanks everyone.

Now that I see I am in good company with using an AAR hood maybe you can help me with a tangent item.  I'm putting  a 340 under this hood but only a four barrel.  What have you done to install an air cleaner that properly seals against the hood?  I thought about modifying a six pack base plate but that seems like an expensive direction. I was thinking of using the 383 base plate and oval air cleaner.

Brad do you use a lightweight spring and the rods?

Awesome.  I was thinking that the deck height might not work with the 340 whereas you have a 440.  Do you think that I'll be okay? Thanks.

I'd say no problem, another member on here has a 340 and the same base.  the carb flange is pretty tall when you get it. You trim them to fit,.

I use the rods instead of the springs. I found the springs bowed the hood over time and blew down with any wind. I tried 2 different spring designs before I went with the rods.

The Pennsylvania TA-AAR hood company will soon stop making their fiberglass hoods... see/read their web-site (and prices are increasing).... I think February 2017 its over with them (retiring?)... someone should buy their molds.

Regarding the fiberglass air cleaners, I'm curious approximately how much lighter they are vs. the steel assemblies.... anyone know?    I'm always looking to reduce the weight of the car, especially the front-end.
Autocross/road racers go in deeper... and come out harder!

See  MOPAR ACTION MAGAZINE, AUGUST 2006 ISSUE for featured article and details on my autocross T/A.

Thanks.  I compared the product from Pennsylvania to ASC/Stinger and my body guys felt the differences weren't worth the price difference and lead time difference for my application. And, numerous folks on on this site had favorable comments on ASC.  I too now support them.  They turned my order around very quickly.

Is hybrid Fiberglass still in business? I have emailed them several times without response. How much are their bases (AAR/TA 6 pack), anyone know?

Brad, Do you recall what you paid for the base plate, ball park?  I will be needing one of those myself.
