Spent a couple days (14 hours each) last weekend.   The relay panel I fabricated worked fine ... but was way too big.  Also, the firewall is more busy than I like ... so we decided to go with a Painless relay panel for lights and all accessories.  And to use Speedwire for all engine and go-fast stuff.

We got about half of the Speedwire done before we had to leave for biz trip. 

When we get home in week we'll finish the wiring of relay panels then tidy up the harnesses and wires. 

We have a black covering for white pvc pipe - decided to go with that near seating area ... I'm rough on stuff and rather have wiring in its own conduit. 

All lights, signals and interior accessories working.  Im waiting on interior lighting once all complete to see what we exactly want to do.

Probably couple days to finish and tidy up wiring - then we need to check new fuel cell with some fuel ... and fire her back up!!

Thanks guys.!!!!   Wound up replacing all wiring except old gauges.   Added a fuel gauge with new tank.

 Ive got some touch up behind dash (lRustoleum) I want to apply after sanding some surface rust then can mount the switches.

We'll have 4 switches:  1 toggle that powers on to the turn signals and brake lights, 1 4-way pull out switch (closed, parking lights, headlights and high beams) and horn button.  Turn signal unit is installed on steering column (and has 4 ways).

We've got the old style 1156/57 bulbs in but have some LED we will try later.  Headlamps are H4.

I left decent amount of slack so we could pull the relay panels out a decent amount with just disconnecting power and ground.   There's plenty room beyhind what would be radio and glove box so I just want to secure that well (the car vibrates a bit    )

The Speedwire switch panel will go on dash where ashtray would be. 

Oh .... need to get NSS mounted to Cheetah shifter.  I learned TF transmission have negative ground lead from transmission for this.   But we will put  a plug in that (less crap to leak) and modify shifter like it is for GM and Fords.  Rather easy actually.   And power to starter from firewall + stud.

Will get some before and after pics under dash when we get there!

Ya.  Ive probably added 40lbs material.  Plus I probably weight 40 lbs more than previous owner... lol.   He had car and him at 3200lbs dialed in 11.5 ETs

Plus he was a very good driver

Speedwire all set.  Everything working.  Pretty panel and switch lights. 

Need to drill a hole for vent line for new fuel cell (forgot about that lol ) then get her running!

once we get her running again we'll go back and finalize wiring tie-ups and so forth.  See how bad what shakes where.

Have left only to wire compartment fan and interior lighting.  We bought an LED bar.  Will see how that works. Or maybe LED in old stock location.   Or both.  Speedwire switch panel has LED light bar under it. Kinda need. But would like something for ceiling area.

One thought I had - since I removed headliner, I was just going to paint ceiling black.  But thought maybe Orange. Go with cars motif.

Then some street rims/tires and new strip shoes.  See what we've got.

Budget, time, engine condition, etc. All dependent on what motor work we may/may not do.   Just leave it be.  Throw on runner/rail FI system.  Or blower.  Some NOS.     Who knows.

I've installed alternators right on the engine plate. Its easier to do it that way than to cut/clearance for block mount. This was on circle track cars not that it makes a difference?

It's space issue - I think. Appears there's only 6" inches from plate to fans. But. One thing I was thinking.  There's a few alternators you can mount backwards. So alternator can be up and away from fans. And then need only couple inch extended pulley off the balancer.

Alternator would still be mounted on plate either way.  Just hole for about 1/2 of it to recess in.

But I really should measure before truly figure it out.

Cleaned up general wiring and area (still need to vacuum  ) -  of course, we still need to complete "permanent" tied downs, routing, etc.  We still have passenger seat to put in, bolt down relay panel to trans tunnel (but did add 1 inch of foam material to act as vibration dampener), etc.

Everything working and checks (obsessive with checking as we progress lol ) ... woot  ... except ... starter solenoid went kaput    Should have one here Wednesday.  Actually glad it went now - was like 18 years old .. so just ordered new starter unit.  Not much room around the torsion bar (had to take solenoid off starter itself to wiggle out) .. new starter is a bit smaller, but will probably have to reverse what we did getting old one out.  PIA for starter .. but not that bad.

Added LED light bar above rear view mirror - pic below.  Kept stock lights in place and working (rear sail panel? ... is that what you call it back there ...  ). We may replace them with orange LED just for fun ... really not that functional back there.  Added fuel level gauge (you'll see in pic where speedo would be).

Stopped by shop to order starter ... talked about perhaps final motor/drive train build of changing cam, rear end gearing, and adding Procharger DSC-1 or F1 with set-up for E85.   Just looking to go towards final goal of 10 sec ET car without continually undoing or re-doing stuff as we progress.  And keep budget in mind.

I like the original Cheetah shifter cover.  So decided to keep it and use the switches on passenger side: interior rear lights, new LED front lights, on/off for inside fan, and momentary switch for start function (yes - redundant NSS ... but extra safety and so no fool can accidentally start it ...  )

The Speedwire switch panel operates rest of engine stuff.   

Need to clean up parts of the dash, paint inside ceiling (No need for headliner), do something with door panels to spruce up, etc ... little stuff  ... something to do when gets bit warmer.
