Rear drum to disc brake convert, what do you guys recommend?
« on: October 12, 2016 - 03:07:46 AM »
Looking for a basic drum to disc brake conversion kit (with park brake) for my 1970 Plymouth Cuda with a Chrysler 8.75 rear end.

What do you guys recommend?

I got this kit from Wilwood:

and Green bearings from Dr Diff. And a new 489 case with 3.55.
Still in boxes though.

Dr Diff, I used his kit and it is nice stuff. He uses oem Ford Cobra calipers, and from my research oem is better than race ones as they are less likely to leak when sitting. If you are using stock front discs his 10 inch kit works well to keep things in balance. Also, I believe his kit is the only one you can use the stock rear sway bar with. Never mind great customer service...tell him what you have, and your goals and he will put you in the right direction.

Dr Diff.

Here's my install. On a S60 w/ Torino bearings, works w/ FF rear sway bar

But the smaller Dr. Diff 10.7 rear kit had been out of stock and has been for quite some time. Unless your go with the 11.7 kit that requires the 13" front kit.

So a Wilwood kit will not work with a FF sway bar? I think I got the wrong info then.

I emailed cass back in July on the small rear brake kit , he said at the time it'll be around 3 months till they are back in stock. So maybe soon...

It will work, just looked a Cuda, it has same Wilwoods as me and a stock type swaybar, its not even close to the brakes.
