I put on just about 2000 miles since I got my car back on the road. The last few times I took it out I thought I heard some whine from the rear end. When I pulled the fill plug and dipped my finger in, I was surprised to see black and silver fluid. Brand new 8 3/4 center from Mancini eating it's self. As with many of us we buy parts well before we get to use them. I bought the diff 8-9 years ago. So no chance of any warranty work. Turns out that the mesh was way off. The ring gear was getting the front and bottom edge chewed off. Like a hockey stick shape.
So what I have learned is; Even though the parts are brand new doesn't mean someone didn't make an assembly mistake.Inspect and reinspect your mechanical parts as best as you can. Had I done a mesh check before installing and driving I'd be ok today.
I know many of you seasoned folks will have known to do this. It's a psa for all the new people.
