1970 CUDA... WHATS IT WORTH?

Any ideas what this car would be worth totally restored.  Car has 12,343 correct miles with zero rot.  Makeover started 20 yrs ago and parted ways with the owner of the shop.  Also,  how much is too much to pay for completion of car, and any referrals of shops that specialize in Cudas??  Not sure why I could not get the images to download.

if anyone knows the costs to completely restore and finish an e-body, its Alan. how many have you done over the years now Alan? 30-40?  the red sunroof Challenger looks stunning

Ok, the next question, do you think by the build sheet, this car is worth putting 50k -60k into?  Would I ever come close to getting this money back if I ever decide to sell?  I d love to post pics of the car... but I get an error and says file is too big..

You will never be able to recoop your money spent to professionally restore a Mopar unless it is a extremely rare car (Cuda Hemi vert, Daytona/Superbird, etc).  So if your in it to make money this is the wrong car.  If your in it to restore a bada$$ Cuda, drive it around, show it off and have a great time doing it then go for it if you have the funds.  In the end, a 340 '70 Cuda is worth $50-60k tops.

Call me crazy but it's a black, 4 speed, 340 Cuda. No one seems to restore these cars correctly so I would do it. Not a bondo and header job like most do but a proper to the nut resto. There are hardly any properly restored 340 Cudas out there and this one would stand out in a crowd. If you can't do the car correctly yourself and want it done in a good timeframe I would talk to Alan as well. It would be great to see this car done right. If the car was rusty it might a hard sell but if it's solid you're already $40k or so ahead of the game. I would not think twice about doing a total, proper resto on it.

Definately not in it to make money,  just been sitting on this car since I was 17.  Would love to let my son take it to prom in 2018.  I am pretty attached to it as It is my 1st muscle car.

YES...It will most likely never sell for what you have in it after a total proper restoration.

YES....I feel a fully documented, numbers matching, correctly restored black/black 340 4spd car is worth $60K-$70K in today's market.

YES....Being a black/black 340 4spd car, it's worth doing and doing right. Not many cars like that are receiving the quality resto they deserve. It needs to be put back to 100% stock original to maximize it's value.

YES...If you've had the car a long time and the car "owes you nothing" or your investment to date is next to nothing, then spending $50K-$60K to make the car 100% brand new again, won't be to hard to get your head around. It's when people pay $20K for a project, then realize the cost of restoration....that's when it gets scary.

YES....My complete ground up stock restorations cost around $50K- $60K CANADIAN without major metal work. That's about $45K USD right now.

YES....You need to find a quality shop that turns cars out at a good rate without costing a fortune, there's not a lot around.

YES....Make sure your son is well insured before driving it to the prom

I've finished around 25 E Bodies and another 5 on the go currently  I would guess more E Bodies then any other shop in the world.

When I mentioned letting my son take it to prom, by no means would I let him take it for the night. It would be take it to the school, and I would take it from there, as they take a bus for the afterprom. I m going to get it out and clean the dust off it, and get some pictures.  I will try again to post them.

Take pictures with your cell phone, email them to yourself & when it asks for a size select medium..

@$45k USD for a near factory finish job and you already own it, so you won't be upside down on it. sounds like a winning combo to me. a TX9 340 4spd Cuda will always be a highly sought after vehicle IMO

on pics - also look at using a hosting site like www.photobucket.com - upload the pics to that site, but link them here. this avoids the big file size issues + you can re-link those pics to other sites and photobucket acts as a backup too in case you lose those on your PC
