Replacing Dash

Good god, in some small way I am thankful the person who put in my windshield was retarded by not using butyl tape. This gave me the excuse to pull it and put it back in the right way.

If you believe that a 1/4 flex drive will make this an easy chore (yep have them) I would love to have you make a video for me on how easy it is to get in and out and yep you can leave out the editing too. I'm sure it will take no time at all....

 

I took my dash pad off to take a dent out of it and put it back on in a good half day, I did have the heater box and glove box and passenger seat out which mad it easy, used a 1/4 flex drive, took the instruments out, pretty easy actually but your call

I've done it several times...trick is a large mirror (stolen off the closet door) laid on the outside of the windshield.

You can usually get one from a Wal-Mart type store for about 5 bucks.

No reason to remove the windshield unless it is already broken and if it is not, it will probably break on removal, or the vehicle is undergoing a ground up restoration. There are only the four 3/16 bolts to insert on top. These are in the defrost slots. I have done this numerous times as others have. The one thing that would assist is a socket with a magnet in it.

It can be done (I did it) but it wasn't that easy.

Classic right Tom.

Mine was even worse since the guy who put the window in didn't use butyl tape and smashed the window down with caulking. There was like 5 cm of space to work with.
