1970 Barracuda Fuse Box mounting help
« on: October 23, 2016 - 06:17:49 PM »
I've been troubleshooting a problem with my 1970 Barracuda. When I'm driving, it cuts out for about two seconds and then comes back.
I looked at everything I could think of until I got to the connections for the engine wiring plugs that connect to the fuse box. I took them off and shot some cleaner on the connectors and tried to reinstall them.
I had problems because the fuse box appears to not be mounted well and it started to push in. I'm betting that is where my problem is.
I looked at the box from under the dash but I'm not sure how it is mounted to the firewall.
Anyone have pictures?
What is a good place to look for replacements?

Thanks, I have looked through a lot of books to find pictures with little luck. I have quite a few that I collected.
I found what may be the answer to what I need.
I remembered that in one of the magazines there was something about a new repo of the connection block (Mopar Collectors Guide). I found it and it appears that Evans makes it. I will call them.
Are they the only one making the dash harness? I know Classic Industries and YearOne sell them, but I drought they make them.

Thanks

Here is the bulkhead nuts. Haven't been able to find the screws yet.

M & H wiring is the harness manufacturer for Year One.
They are under a proprietary exclusive vendor contract to Year One.
Possibly now to Classic Industries as well now from when I found this out before.

Thanks, I'll ask Evans if they have the screws.

How about this. Armed with knowledge that there are two nuts on the firewall side, I took another look. I found one of the nuts missing. Thank you Topcat.
I have an assortment of those type nuts, but not the correct size for this one. I'll get one and fix this problem.
Once again, this form has helped me fix a problem. One down and serval to go.
