How to adjust accelerator pump shot?
« on: October 30, 2016 - 01:26:24 AM »
How to adjust accelerator pump shot?  My car has a hesitation with the new air gap intake.  Its a 340 engine, carter AFB carb.  Is the accelerator pump on the carb?  How do I increase the shot?

Obviously I dont know much about cars.  Try not to laugh to hard over this post.  It seems a little sad.  :)

Thanks,

Neil

If you have an instant stumble , which I believe was the case , then increasing the volume of fuel delivered is not going to help , it will just waste fuel , you need to get a bigger squirter so more fuel arrives instantly , unfortunatly they are only sold in Packs of 3 - small , what you already have & a larger one .
raising the float level slightly can help though .

Or you can use a pin drill... But the another thing to look at is the check ball or needle under the squirter retaining screw...

Chyrco Psycho, you were on the money.  Switched to squirter #43 vs the #28.  New problem, keeping tread on tires.
