Heater control valve

My friend is looking at a 70 Cuda 440 and I see the heater control cable by the right side inner fender not connected to anything. Wasn't the heater control valve inside the car on non A/C cars and under the hood only on cars with A/C? Mine is under the dash......

Based on responses to an earlier thread, A/C cars have a separate control valve mounted under the hood on the passenger side fender well.  The link is shown immediately below.  You may have to scroll down to see the picture and comments.

That is correct, AC cars had a separate control valve (my Challenger is an AC car) whereas non AC cars did not.

Is the car he's looking at an AC car with none of the under hood components ? Do you have a picture ?

The car is not an a/c and after seeing it person today.....the cable in question for the for shaker doors. Problem solved.....

Any help with a water valve question?  I have a 1970 barracuda 383, automatic, with factory a/c.  Can NOT stop the heat coming into passenger compartment from being HOT air.  Weather the adjuster is in cool position or warm position.  IT IS ALWAYS HOT AIR.  Looking for the correct water valve and picture of correct working valve unit.  Can someone help with pics of engine compartment area at water valve ?  Been looking for new valve and want to get correct one.

Correct valve is the red & black piece of crap... I bought four of them through the years for my Challenger, they never seal off the heat completely, they only last a few years then they start leaking... Basically they look pretty but unless your fixated on looking correct I'd look elsewhere....

The 71 & up valve is less leak prone & seals better... But the best option is a second manual valve to keep closed till the weather starts to cool off...

Yes the red and black is cracked and shot.
Wanting to stay correct to that valve.
1. Any suggestions on a vender for a good valve?
2.  And or suggestion where to hide a shut off
Valve?

 I also have one of those "red and black valves" which has a small leak in the black body.  Wondering if it would be possible to 3D scan and print a new body,  or would the 3D plastics not be compatible with todays antifreeze??
