Rebuild factory rear sway bar
« on: October 30, 2016 - 09:33:20 PM »
My factory rear sway bar rubber is cooked. Does anyone sell a good kit for a rebuild? It's welded to the rear frame rail from the factory, right?

The bushing "hoop" is spot welded to the chassis rail bracket which is in turn screwed to the chassis rail. You can drill the spot weld and find a suitable rubber or pollution bush then re weld the hoop back on if you want to keep it original, some guys have managed to press a rubber bush into place without drilling the spot welds I believe as well

They both look ok. It's the end links. I think the Moog k8266 might work?

Firm Feel has some solutions..they will sell you just the greaseable bushing and brackets for $100. I would use their bushing and and mount them to your old brackets as the brackets that go around the frame don't line up very well. Only one hole lines up and the frame brackets needs to be pressed a little so it it is snug to the frame. I ended up making one of the two hole slotted instead of drilling another hole in the frame.
