Paint/undercoat sequence
«
on:

Was the factory undercoating (fender wells, transmission tunnel, etc) applied before of after the cars were color painted?
Also, were these cars painted with or without their rear axle and front suspension installed?
Thanks!

The undercoating was sprayed right before "body drop". That's when the engine/trans/suspension/rear end/driveshaft/exhaust were installed. All those components were on a large "cart"(for lack of a better word) The body was dropped down over them. Most of the interior was already installed at that point as well as the brake/fuel lines, muffler heat shields and rear sway bar.(if equipped) You can tell this because those components(brake/fuel lines, seat track studs/nuts exc...) have undercoating on them.
