2 Engine Swaps
« on: November 09, 2016 - 12:32:45 PM »
I have taken on two engine swaps at the same time. This was not planned, just kind of all fell into place.

My '68 Charger is getting a 505 ci stroker. 73440 ended up buying my 440 that is a great stock motor that I was planning on stroking, but got a great deal on the 505 from a friend locally. We plan to have the swap completed by Friday or Monday.

My '70 Cuda is getting a 392 Hemi with the new conversion kit announced at Sema last week.  Dave at Roseville not only helped me order all the parts, but found a buyer for my 340 6-barrel.  The crate should be here by the end of the week, and we will do this swap over the next couple of weeks.

I have use of my buddies shop that makes this all possible, and SleepyChallenger is helping a ton!

Here are pics of the first night.

I like seeing the tall jack stand, someone thought about weight balance....  FWIW I use T bolts in the front frame rails to attach them to the front lift arms...

a garage to die for!
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

Thank you guys.  Happy to provide rides to any and all!

Pics from last night. Assembled most of the 505 and unpacked the 392. Drew (SleepyChallenger) was a huge help. Dave (73440) picked up the 440 then came back to help stab the 505!

Dang Frazz, I'm jealous!!!

Is that a dent in the Hemi exhaust?

You should make a vid where you start one after the other! Epic!

I believe that is factory since all the pics I have found show that dent.  And yes, there will be videos!
