Dude that's tough ta sallow. Having had a similar experience as a 16-yr old with the brake pedal I can tell you it does happen & nobody feels worse than your little girl right now..

I was surprisingly calm when it all happened. Of course seeing you little girl sobbing behind the wheel has a way of mellowing you out.

No one was hurt, the stuff can be fixed...so what is yelling going to do!  I have a dad in car business, If we damaged a car as a kid, man did we get laid into!  I am not going to do that to my kid.

At this point the Charger is in the shop getting disassembled for appraisal.  Truck is after that.  Still waiting on the appraisal and go ahead on the garage door.

Biggest down side is that my rental car is a Chevy Impala...I miss my Charger!

Hmmm... makes me reconsider giving my daughter my Mustang GT when she turns 16... maybe something with a bit less torque. Lol.

Yeah...makes you nervous doesn't it. 

I picked the Charger up today...shop did a great job, paint matches very well. It sure is nice to get it back and looking good again.  I am very happy to get rid of the rental car...not much good to say about the Impala.

Wife's truck is in the shop now.

I don't know about the rest of you, but the best way I learn is by messing up. Pretty tough to forget, I'm sure your daughter learned from this

Well, I finally found some time to pull the cuda apart and see if anything other then the bumper was damaged. Honestly, I was sort of avoiding it, but wanted to get it pulled apart before the snow flies.

I am happy to report that it looks like the bumper did its job and it is the only thing that is damaged.

The bumper brackets do not appear to be bent at all.

There is a small chip in the rear valance, but it does not appear to be bent.

So pretty fortunate I think...it could have been a lot worse!

That's good news, do you have a bumper? Or a line on one? I assume you will need one " dechromed" in order to paint it?

No bumper yet...have not really looked yet either.  I am fine with any straight bumper.  I have had really good luck painting over the chrome...its all it the prep!

Well when I first realized that the truck was into the garage door, the first thing that I thought of, after the visions of a crumpled back end of my Cuda faded, was that insure may cover the damage and a full repaint.  Sometimes I can be an optimist.   

But I prefer it this way.
