1972 340 4-Barrel Carburetor
« on: November 10, 2016 - 07:25:02 PM »
Hey there! I'm new to this forum, and I need this carb to get my Challenger running. I inherited this car from my dad, who let it sit for 25 years, and now I'm finally going to resurrect it. It is a 1972 Challenger Rallye, 340 4-Barrel, 4-speed. The Carburetor that was on the car was the most seized thing I've ever seen in my life. It looks like it sat at the bottom of the Atlantic for 30 years. The engine cranks perfectly, and the spark plugs still spark! So I just need this Carb. What I know about it is that it is a Carter Thermoquad, casting number 6-2124. Apparently there are more numbers on it, but the thing is so rusty I can't read anything else. You guys probably know what I need though. I'm located in CT, 06615 and want this Carburetor ASAP. Let me know everyone! Thank you!!!

Carter Thermoquad . Casting # top of carb is 6-2146. Model # stamped into LR of throttle plate is 6340SA. 1 3/8 inch primarys, 2 1/4 secondarys. From my research this is a 650 CFM used with automatic transmission. This would be a correct carb for a 1973 Challenger. Please reply with contact info if interested. Thank you !

I also have various 1970 thru 1973 Challenger parts for sale. E-Mail your needs.

I don't think that will work. Mine is a 1972 4-Speed.
