Last of the High Quality TA/AAR Hoods
« on: November 17, 2016 - 10:02:35 PM »
Sadly ASC&P is closing down production of their TA/AAR hoods. They are offering the entire kit and kaboodle as a "Business for sale" but as of the end of February, they are closing down.

See: http://larrythephoenix.wixsite.com/ta-challenger-hoods/form__map

Of course, this really tweeks me, as I am working on a T/A Challenger 500 cubic inch canyon runner and wanted one of their hoods, so I will have to buy it earlier than I anticipated and store it somewhere till the car is ready (2019). None the less, these are the ones to buy if you are running a TA airbox as I am as the quality is second to none, the strength is better than the stock ones with a full length steel frame and latch area and the Airbox is preformed.

See:

For those who prefer the steel plain hoods with a scoop attached, thy also sell the scoops separately, but you will have to install a shaker under structure to seal or use lots of foam or rig it somehow. Notice correct engine offset on airbox.

They're going out of business and adding a substantial price increase ? Is that a way of saying we don't want to make any more so please don't order ? :clueless:

I've emailed and telephoned to get a T/A scoop and they don't respond back. So I guess I'll go without.

I considered buying an extra T/A hood ... from ASC&P... but in review of their web-site, you'll still be required to do final prep and finishing of the hood ... as well as still have to paint it.   Overall price seems very expensive considering you still have to do a lot of final work at your time/expense.   Maybe I've misunderstood their web-site...
