Ken Harrison kick panels w/ speakers
« on: November 21, 2016 - 03:54:22 PM »
Did anyone buy and install these (Ken Harrison kick panels with Kenwood speakers)?

Or you just cut a hole in the kick panel and install any kind of speakers?

You can certainly cut the kick panel and do it yourself but I'm having trouble finding a good speaker that is shallow enough to work in the kick panel. I would certainly want to know the quality of sound coming from the speakers you have posted. If they are good then the price is reasonable assuming that the kick panel is a good quality reproduction.

I have a pair of those Year One Ken Harrison Kick Panels that are New In Box. (I'll sell them cheap)
The panels are cheesy. Don't know what they sound like because I couldn't get pas how ugly the panels are.
Go to a good stereo shop or install yourself. I put a pair of Focal IC130 in my kick panels myself. Tight fit...
I managed to fit them though. A little bit of bulge. Had to bend the E-Brake pedal a little to keep it from rubbing against the speaker grill. No big deal...
They sound great. I lined behind them with Fat Mat.

If anyone wants the Ken Harrison speakers I have, make an offer + shipping and their yours. I would remove the speakers and put them in real kick panels.
I have had Kenwood speakers before and liked them.

Randy, I bought the radio from you which was a definite improvement over the aftermarket radio that was in the car. But I wanted more so I bought a pair of Kenwood speakers that would fit and I'm still not happy. The two kick panel speakers is all I'm using, straight from the radio. They don't seem to be able to handle much bass so I either have to run more treble or lower volume. Haven't had time to look for something else but I'm not keen on getting into amps, woofers, subwoofers, etc. Will the fatmat make much difference to the sound quality? Any recomendations? I'm wondering about incorporating the centre dash speaker and running a three speaker system off the radio.

Would something like this get in the way if they were mounted on the kick plate? Judging by the photos they don't stick too much out, but I can't verify since my Challenger is now in pieces and is being de-rustified.

Just saw this on mobile.de. The car is not interesting, but the front speakers are - just check out the photos.

Here's what Rad Rides' did with the Cuda: speakers are in the kick panels, but are almost flush. I have no clue what they used, but it sure looks great.

I love what they did with that Cuda in general!

Nice Cuda!

Looks like they eliminated the E-Brake in order to add 2-3 inches of depth to custom kick panels.
