Hello from Somerset
« on: November 25, 2016 - 12:42:38 PM »
Hi guys, new to the forum, but not new to owning Yanks. That said, I'm after help with a Challenger I may have the chance to buy.

It's a '73 Challenger, matching numbers, with a 318 block. It's been in dry storage for the last 3 years. Needs a few bits, but nothing too serious I think. Exhaust, brakes being the most serious.  Absolutely no rust, and is very straight looking inside and out. It will need a respray at some stage, but it's not bad. Engine turns, but doesn't start. Probably fuel, and a flat battery..;-) So, what sort of money are these '73's going for? Any info would be much appreciated.

As a side note, I'm selling my '72 Econoline E-100 van to help fund it. So, if anyone wants to help me achieve a 'dream'...;-)

Cheers

Manny

Welcome to the site from  :canada: As for WIW, there's more knowledgeable guys here, but IMHO, a straight, absolutely rustfree 73 car with a turning engine would go for somewhere in the vicinity of $8-10k, but then that's just my  :2cents:

Welcome!

sounds like @ $6-10k, but hard to tell without pics. average price for running/driving, looks good ...@ $15-20k. restored top end, @ $25-28k. '73-'74 aren't too popular so to speak. the average Joe won't know the difference between a '70 and a '74 and love it just the same. an enthusiast is looking for a '70 or '71. IMO a '73 is a great entry to the e-body world for much less cost than a '70-'71 and as long as you like it, that is all that matters.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.
