I just finished putting fitech efi system on my 1970 challenger and took it out for the first test run today and love it, it is like awhole new car, throttle response is unbelievable, I also have it on my 72 cuda, it is the best upgrade you can do.some people say it is to much stuff in the engine bay, on mine you can hardly tell.its all in how you do it.not many wires either.

how did you run the fuel lines?
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

I bought 5/16 fuel line and ran it to the sending unit on the challenger, I had to buy a sending unit with a return, on the cuda I ran it back to the tank which already had the hoses for the charcoal canister which was removed and attached to one of the hoses going into the tank

I guess I should have ask if you mean the return line or the supply lines, let me know and I can take pics of it and send you.After I did the cuda first and started it up and drove it there was no second guessing the challenger was next

just wondering if you used that self-contained tank unit, that is fed
from a low pressure pump?

Yes I did but not from fitech they are having big problems with them are have to redesign them I heard so I found another pump from robmc.com and love it

Nice thing about these surge tank deals is if the EFI acts up you can swap a carb back on in twenty minutes... Likely never needed but gives a sense of comfort to those who don't trust technology..

air cleaner sit higher or lower, than for an 850 Holley?

If making around 600 hp, should a person get the unit that is rated for 600 hp, or the 800 hp unit?

Having read enough of your posts to know power is a high priority get the 800 HP unit... The 600 HP unit is happy to run a 200 HP vehicle but at 600 HP the pulse width is nearly maxed out... An 800 HP unit would have plenty of max flow capacity but because it's looking at engine load, engine rpm & a number of other inputs it can develop an accurate fuel map with minimal input from you..

might come in handy if I ever went to the Trick Flow Heads.  They probably outflow
my existing heads by at least 40 cfm on the intake.
