I've heard good reports about the McRobb unit...

Not familiar with this?  Does it mean you don't need a new tank with in-tank fuel pump or return lines?

does the Robb unit give the fuel pressure needed for the  FItech 800 hp version?
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

So not only is there a concern with these "remote fuel tanks" functioning properly, but is anyone else concerned about putting a can a fuel in a hot engine bay?

I suppose you could look at both fuel bowls on a carb as cans of fuel?

Guess it depends on where you mount it; if it is back near the firewall I do not think it would be an issue, however if you mounted it in the grille it might be..  I think it would be fine and I would not hesitate to use one.
