IT'S NEW....BARE STEEL
« on: December 01, 2016 - 04:23:35 PM »
After a long string of purple and red cars it's going to be nice to finally build one in a fairly rare and unique colour.

This "U" code 440 4bbl 4 speed 4:10 Dana car is going to be finished in FF4 Light Green Metallic.....I can't wait. As you can see it also has green houndstooth interior which is a first for me and it will also have a green vinyl roof. Coded for a black side stripe, lets hope the owner doesn't go ahead with a ledger green stripe :smilielol:

Some of you sharp-eyed readers may have noticed a large hole in the roof.....YUP....you guessed correct...this is the third factory sunroof Challenger R/T that I have restored.....Try telling people how rare they are when you have three of them on the go.... :roflsmiley:

This is how I usually get them....complete basket cases piled full of parts, most of which don't even belong.... :blah: :smilielol:

I saw on GC how sloppy the stock sunroof was installed, with punched holes instead of drilling etc, is that really so? If so, would you make it look like they did, or do a nicer install?

If you saw it on GC, it must be true ! :smilielol:

Yes, the install is not too fancy....I just restore it back that way...

Hey Al just a heads up, that wide seam green vinyl roof is going to be real hard to find.  That's going to be a neat car when done!

Can't wait to see this one done.  Man, you can really turn out quality cars fast.   :2thumbs:
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Won't Legendary Auto Interiors just make one for me ? :dunno:

For about 10 years in a row I called Legendary and they always told me that they would never reproduce the wide seam green vinyl roof  as the demand was way too low.  SMS Auto Fabrics agreed to make me one but it took 2 years for me to receive it after it was paid in full.

I think you might get a coloured dash in reproduction, but my plan will be to use an original black pad and dye it with Herb's Paints :2thumbs:

I'll just pay Legendary to custom make one for me  I got a few months to wait.

That's the plan....I'm averaging a 12 month turn around....However I did these two in 12 months and also finished Kevin Suydam's six pack car AND worked on two other Cudas... :working:
