Best thing about this car...NO AIR CONDITIONING !!!! :swear:

*NO Radio
*NO Console
*NO Power Steering


It does have:
Six Way Seat
Rim Blow Wheel
Pedal Dress Up
Hood Pins

I think you might get a coloured dash in reproduction, but my plan will be to use an original black pad and dye it with Herb's Paints :2thumbs:

As far as the F8 green interior goes if your customer is as anal as I am Herb's green paint will not work for the dash as it has metallic in it. The F8 interiors actually consist of 4 different shades of green. 1 for the dash pad and steering, 1 for the doors , rear sections , seat backs and kick panels, 1 for the metal parts and 1 for the plastic dash pieces and console.  I bought all my dyes from Dave at Performance Car Graphics.  Not cheap but worth it if your customer is looking for an accurate restoration.

Won't really know until after it's blasted. What looks like "surface rust" usually turns into pin holes or larger.

That's why I cringe when I see people on here doing rust repairs to their cars without first blasting to remove ALL the rust. You end up fixing one area, then the rust just turns up somewhere else. All or nothing in my books.

So true, after blasting 2 cars, I totally see the point now, the second one had small holes all over the firewall from the cowl area, did not see that at all before blasting.

I would be interested in seeing more pictures around the sunroof opening (now and as the project progresses). You must be pretty good at the sunroof cars now.

I'm just very familiar with it and replaced an entire firewall in my current build.

The last car I had I was lucky enough to catch it and clean it out before it became a disaster.

Alan, you are fast, you just got that car.  Yet you quickly PM me when I need help.  Do you sleep?  I have a fairly solid looking project and continue to fight you on the media blasting idea as my car will be prepped and painted in 2017....

Obviously like I have seen with some of your other projects and this car, media blasting makes sense and in the end its worth it.  I better start saving more as I am not experienced enough to strip the car down all the way.

Here's the thing....I've been restoring Mopars for 32+ years, mostly E Bodies. I've probably done more Cudas and Challengers then any other shop in the world....
They come apart pretty easy....On average it takes about 20-25 hours to take them apart...about another 6-8 to scrape off the undercoating then let a quality blasting place to the rest. This car will be 100% bare metal for about $1500....then another $500 to epoxy prime.....

With this stage done you can be certain to find all the rust (except between panels yadda yadda yadda :blah: )...

...THEN you can fix all the rust.....this is the part that might cost you more money then you wanted to spend, but this is the part of the restoration that insures all the other money spent isn't wasted.

So some extra time and a extra couple of grand and you can sleep at night.......Oh did I mention commitment....One you start...you have to stick it through until the end.
