'74 interior rear view mirror
« on: December 01, 2016 - 10:16:05 PM »
Need to find a decent day /night unit. The silver behind the glass in mine is in really bad shape. PM me here.

Thanks,

TC

Yes 70-72 support the sun visors 73-74 does not, so the base is different.

The 74 challenger mirror I have has the same problem as yours, the glass is missing some silver, the rest of it is good to excellent. The other mirror I have is very good to excellent, but I think its for a 70-72 Duster, it is slightly smaller and not a day night mirror but has the same mount as the 74 Challenger mirror.

Is it possible to pop the mirror out and have a glass shop redo the silver?

Looking at the pictures listed, could you take a 70 mirror then swap out the bases?  :dunno:

That's  the same issue i have with my mirror. The mount  is good, the post  I can fix, but the mirror needs help. Don't know that it is worth having it  resilvered since mirrors are so cheap and this is not a resto. Heck, I thought about installing a glue on mirror from one of my junk boxes but my headliner already has  the holes and imprint from the stock base.

Hmmm, looks like I'm going glue on. I'm not willing to pay  $99+ for a mirror. Absolute accuracy is not a paramount concern in this build.
