Lateral Engine Tilt
« on: December 02, 2016 - 07:47:21 AM »
Hi all,

I have a '73 340 Challenger and noticed today that the engine tilts down to the passenger side by 2.5 degrees. I'll organise a picture tomorrow, it's 11pm and my phone can't handle the light contrast!

Is this tilt normal? Now that I've noticed it, I notice it all the time.

Cheers in advance.

when step on it, engine does lean that way, due to torque.
so, new moter mounts may be in order.

Normal, no. Can it be fixed, yes. Do you need new mounts, maybe. Between the engine mounting plate, motor mount, and frame mount, there are several places where a little bit a movement can result in an overall engine tilt.
