1971 Challenger Convertible newbie
« on: December 06, 2016 - 04:57:41 AM »
A good forum here to share my favorite hobby...

Bought this one few months ago, my first Mopar, and no disappointments  :)
It was restored over 20 years ago, - paint and some minimum rust repairs.
440-6 pack/auto, but is said to be original a 340/auto, - the 340 engine long gone.
Always garage kept.
Location: Iceland.

Welcome from Colorado!  I love '71 Chally's, and a vert to boot!  Only issue I have is why is there a picture of a Camaro on your wall?

Thank you all guys  :)

dfrazz, the reason for the Camaro picture on the wall, I indeed have another pony who share this garage with the Challenger :)

Welcome from Sweden. Nice cars! Wow, Iceland, are there many musclecars there? How are the weather conditions? A lot like mine I guess, can drive a nice car about half the year.

Awesome ride, the trip I took to Iceland this summer was by far the best vacation I've ever taken!

Thank you all for good greetings :)

The Challenger was imported from USA 1987, I am the third owner since then
The Camaro has been in Iceland since 1972 (I think), when I bought it in 2010, it needed a total restoration.

I think there are about 10 x ´70 Challengers; 4 x ´71 Challengers and few of the younger ones.
Not sure about Barracudas/Cudas...probably less than 10 in total (i.e.70-74).

There are some nice muscle cars here, even though the population is rather low.
But no Superbirds, Daytona Chargers etc.

Weather conditions are making this hobby......drive during summertime (5- 6 months) and garaged during wintertime.
So, during winter, speculations regarding what- and where to upgrade the pony  :)
