What year did Challenger and Barracuda go to retractable shoulder belts? We're rear seat shoulder belts added the same year?

I am not 100% sure, but my 70 Challenger does not have retractable shoulder belts, rather they have a strap you tighten up "if" you want to use it. Basically it is like 2 seat belt each with its own buckle. This car also has rear seat belts (1 set per side).

If I recall correctly, my 73 Cuda has retractable shoulder belts (or had them anyway).
Current Mopar
70 Challenger RT 440-6 EFI, 73 Cuda 416-6 EFI
05 Hemi Durango, 01 Ram 4x4, 14 Ram 2500 4X4, 10 PCP Challenger 6 spd RT, 01 Viper GTS ACR, 52 B3B w/330 Desoto Hemi, 70 Hemi RR (under const)
Past Mopars
9 x Challengers. AAR Cuda, 4 RR, 2 GTX, 4 Chargers, etc... (too many to list)

My '73 Challenger has the 2 belt system.

Thanks for the reply, I was looking at 72,73,74, models at Carlisle a few years ago and remember somthing was different about the seat belts and  some had soft bucket seat backs versus hard plastic, I must have been dreaming about rear shoulder belts. I have a 71 with non retractable shoulder belts

I remember some had the front shoulder belt coming out of the same retractor as the lap belt, and some had a second retractor below the rear window crank where my 71 has ash trays, anyone know the difference? Model? Year?

Rear shoulder belts.....    http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=98748.0

1974 e-bodys had retractable front shoulder belts that had a plastic harness thing on the bucket seats. Mine came with them when I got my car, I replaced them ( and the seats) I found a few 73-74 parts on my car, I assume parts were used from a 74 parts car?

70-72 used the plastic seat backs.  73-74 used full vinyl seat covers and the foam was molded to the seat frames/springs.(not replaceable)  The retractable seat belts were 74 only.  The retracting mechanism was behind the rear interior panels.  The belt comes out of a slit in the rear panels.  Maybe that's why you thought the rear had shoulder belts.
