FWIW back in the 80's working at a dealership I had a customer vehicle using a qt of oil every 100 miles, no visible smoke, ran fine, just used allot of oil.. I tore the engine down & found one cylinder had no oil ring....   So one cylinder was using all that oil, the plug didn't look oily, it had a little fluffy tan powdery residue but no black goo....

People expect this....

The easiest thing to do right now is check the intake fastener bolts to see if they have torque on them or not as R/T suggested. Very easy to do and it can definetly be the problem.

Just a word of caution. Don't be tempted to over torque the intake especially at the ends. It can cause the head to pull up slightly causing a coolant  leak. Been there done that. Value is in inch not foot lbs.

If you are working on the engine with the valve covers off, make sure to get these.

Mancini's Racing
Milodon Spark Plug Tube Seals
Item #: MIL27500

Everytime you pull your spark plugs out, oil goes into the combustion chamber.
These prevent that from happening.

The information given has been amazing! Thanks for giving me your time.  I'll retorque the intake bolts, easy enough. Also thanks for the heads up on the SP tube seals.

Edit:  The tube seals listed are 150+ dollars.

I have these installed, are they just the stock tube and the milodon seals need to be installed in addition?

The aftermarket tubes are used in conjunction with the stock style tubes you linked....   Milodon gets $157 for theirs...  Here's a American made knock off....  http://www.ebay.com/itm/426-HEMI-SPARK-PLUG-TUBE-SEALS-NHRA-DRAG-RACE-PRO-STREET-ROD-/301495116439?hash=item4632826297:m:mz1oeK2GpB6gcr6l8Fe4uMg&vxp=mtr   $75...

Further investigation showed that the coolant leak was from the lower rad hose at the water pump.  The stock style clamp wasn't doing the job.  This engine compt leans itself to authenticity, but I may have to install a band like clamp for functionality.  BTW, there is more rust.  Going to have the cooling system professionally flushed. Also, no spring in the lower rad hose.  Going to order one from one of the Mustang parts houses.

I put the Lucas oil stop leak into the system and I'll wait and see if it helps with the valve seal leaks.
