« on: June 26, 2005 - 07:44:14 PM »
We have the mopar performance black ribbed valve covers and air cleaner... There is two oil fill cap and holes? how and where do you punch holes for the pcv valve and breather cap??  If i remember corrrctly Rev and Red have these covers? can anyone post pictures of them and help decide where to put the holes and all? Thanks again.

I used a hole-saw to semi-drill it from the top. I then used a socket as a hole punch and put the valve and grommet in. THe grommet took a little persuasion, I used a little oil to slip it in.....

I used, i belive a 1" hole saw for the PCV and a 1 1/4" for the K&N Breather. I used the mopar reccomended grommet for the PCV because i didnt want to mess around with finding out what fits for $2 cheaper or whatever...The breather just pushed in/no grommet.

I too have the air cleaner goin on as soon s the 4bbl does  :dogpile:

We arent too worried as to the actual punching out of the holes since dad is a machinist with his own business... but the question must have been worded wrong. our covers are exactly the same, we didnt want to have two fill caps and we were told that the pcv valce did the same thing as a breather cap (release the vaccum/pressure) except the pcv valve utilized the pressure by sending it the the brake system. the question is...  is a pcv valve to hook our vaccum line to and an oil fill hole all we need????thanks

That kinda made sense, but whats so hard about running a pcv valve and a line to the carb?  :dontknow:
