So I'm cleaning up a Flat hood car and it's looking like I may keep it. If so, I will probably let my RT go some point next year. Just trying to ballpark some figures to help me make some final decisions.
It's a 70 RT with the 383 and a four speed. It's all numbers matching and it was made in August 1969 at the L.A. Plant. Still wearing it's original Go Mango paint. Black interior car with no console, no power steering, no upgrades except a black vinyl top and the remote chrome mirror. No build sheet but do have fender tag.
The front end suffered moderate damage in its past. Enough to wipe out radiator and support. As a result, it has new fenders and hood. The clown who did repairs did a horrible job patching in the radiator support. Before I sell it, I plan to make the front end look new and I'll leave it in primer. I'll still disclose to buyer but I won't sell it unless it's arrow straight and invisible. The numbers on the radiator support are gone so that part will be all that is not numbers matching. Vin stamps are good on block and trans case.
Rest of the car is fantastic. Engine, brakes, suspension was professionally rebuilt before I bought it. Zero mileage, looks awesome, runs super strong. Door alignment is great.
The only rust is minor holes at bottom of front and rear glass. I'll patch those prior to sale. Water that got into trunk caused deep pits but no holes. Could be repaired but I'd consider replacing. Inside area looks great. Vinyl roof removed years ago and roof metal looks fantastic.
Car would come with original rallye dash in nice working condition, very nice front and rear black door panels, and nice grille, tail lights, etc. My thought was to do all repairs, assemble so it's running and driving, and leave final paint, body work, and interior to the new owner.
Sorry for so much info. But I'd like to get a realistic idea on value so I know how much effort to put into it before selling. Is 20k possible on a car like I described after work is done?
