70 Grill Paint
« on: December 21, 2016 - 01:52:07 AM »
I want to repaint my grill in my 70 Cuda. Its been an eyesore to me for a long time now and I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. Its dark argent silver and the colors wearing on off on the bottom. I went to my ppg paint dealer and no can do to help me with the original color. I can go through year one and get what I need but no damn way will I spend over 200.00 bucks to paint a grill. So I guess my question is is there any other manufacture I can check with or go on my own and come up with my own paint to do my grille?

I used OEM Paints Medium Argent rattle cans. Very nice results.
Also heard good reviews of Totally Auto Paints. They are restoring my 69 Cuda grills right now.  :2thumbs:

When I did my grill I used paint I got from Dave at Roseville. I'm happy with it!

Are you the original owner ? This would be a first for me, I've never heard of an argent grill in an AAR :clueless:

No i'm not the original owner but i have met and talked to the orginal owner and questioned him about the grille because i thought they came in only black also but he did tell me that the grille was dark argent when he bought it  :dunno:

Also Alan have you ever dealt with an early production AAR? According to what i read SOME early  AAR'S and TA'S  were built from whatever they had at the time  :dunno: I've known this car since i was a child, and up to when i bought the car in 87 from my cousin its always had that dark argent grille and YES its a true matching #'S AAR.
