Firestone Wide Oval Radial
« on: December 22, 2016 - 09:16:59 PM »
My Goodyear Polyglas FR60-15's look fantastic but really don't ride as good as I like.  As a show and cruise tire, I love it.  But highway and trips to the coast make me apprehensive.  I know the BFG Radial T/A is the default but I don't the look and the perimeter drop.

Coker has this tire and it's really pricey:

$323 at tire for the FR60-15 replacement is pretty high.  Not sure if I'll bite the bullet or wait and see if a price drop (as a new tire) is in the spring or summer.

Has any seen this tire in person or thoughts?

Neat idea, too bad they didn't make it look like a Poly.

I had two sets of these tires I was trying to sell at the Spring Fling last year for a friend. I was considering buying a set off of him because I liked the look but he talked me out of it claiming they ride terrible and were outright dangerous on the freeway because rain grooves made the car dance all over the lane.

I still wouldn't mind a set of them but if I did it, I'd probably just use them for cruising and stay off the freeway.

I spoke prematurely. After reading the link closer, I see this is an improved version of what I was talking about in the previous post. Disregard last as it applied to the original bias ply tire only.

I think these just came out. Showcased at SEMA. Apparently won an award.

Has anyone pulled the trigger on these yet? I am struggling with whether to get them or not.
