I have State Farms classic car insurance. The rates have always been very reasonable, but I am concerned about the stated versus agreed value issue. I've been over this concern with my agent and he said he checked with the adjusters and in the case of a total loss, I get the value I'm insured at. But I still have concerns.
Fortunately I've never had to make a claim.
When I got my T/A back from the restoration shop last year, I was in a quandary because I'd have to get an appraiser out to my house in order to value it with SF for its worth.
I shopped around among the better known collector car insurance companies like Hagerty, Grundy and Heacock, but I also talked to an agent here in IL who specializes in collector car insurance, Rally Insurance. They found me a policy for the T/A with 100K agreed value for $385/year. This was about half what Hagerty quoted. Hagerty has a great reputation, and I like their magazine and swag they often are giving away at shows and events, but sorry, I can't justify paying double to insure with them!
My insurance is with Infinity.
http://www.classiccollectors.com/ I'll probably be moving my other 2 Challengers over to them in spring when they come out of hibernation.
