New here, from Florida
« on: January 09, 2017 - 12:33:51 PM »
Hi all, just picked up my 73 Challenger on Friday, she needs a bit of work so I'll probably be on here alot asking questions haha. Also picked up a running 318 w/727 Trans  and a holley carb for $400 yesterday. Pretty excited to work on the car and hopefully get it running/driving soon!

Welcome.    :newbie:With all that surface rust I hope you plan on having the car media blasted to see what lies beneath.  Yeah, I planned on having mine running in short order.  It's been 8 years now and it's still not on the rode.  Lots of good folks here so don't be afraid to ask questions.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Welcome!  There are others here who've already done this, ask lots of questions. You won't get a beat down here for asking anything. Post lots of pictures.  :picture: some here can  see stuff that you would have missed. Getter done and best to ya.

Welcome from  :canada:  As mentioned, I'd also get the car media blasted- by someone who knows what he's doing as it'll both clean up that rust that you shouldn't try to grind out AND it'll tell you where you are in terms of rust and req'd repairs. Good luck!

Thanks guys! Yeah she's pretty rough but I needed a new hobby haha. I'm in Central Florida.

Also, is there any way to determine if this car is a true Rallye edition aside from the vin? It only has a AIN

I live in Lake County, and work in Orlando. We're practically neighbors!

Is the data plate still with the car?  It is on the drivers side inner fender, under the hood.  You should have code A57 for the Rallye package.

No data plate unfortunately. Guess I'll never know what it was originally lol and it won't be a numbers matching car.
